The Defence Bank Foundation is proud to financially support the Defence Community Dogs (DCD) program.
DCD provides dogs trained to Assistance Dog level to Australian Defence Force (ADF) Veterans to support medical conditions, including Post-Traumatic Stress Disorders (PTSD). The dogs are provided at no cost to veterans thanks to the Defence Bank Foundation.
The program is a unique Win-Win-Win program. Every dog in the DCD program is a rescue dog. The dogs are trained by inmates at Correctional Centres under the guidance of professional dog trainers and then provided to our veterans.
Come and meet some of the team on Thursday 29 April and we will show you how the dogs interact with veterans and others.
Meet the dogs from 11.00am at the Kickabout Oval (next to 3 Molonglo Drive) and share a snag for a gold coin donation. We will also have a demonstration outside Defence Bank Brindabella from 12.15pm.
